National Tariff Commission Jobs 2026
The National Tariff Commission is responsible for implementing trade defence laws, including matters covered under the Anti-dumping Duties Act 2015, Countervailing Duties Act 2015 and Safeguard Measures Ordinance 2002, in conformity with WTO Agreements.
NTC also advises the Federal Government regarding customs tariffs under the NTC Act 2015, with the objective of improving the competitiveness of domestic industries.

Qualification
Candidates applying for the Cost Accountant position should hold ACMA, CA or ACCA membership from a recognized accounting body.
Applicants must have more than five years of relevant experience in areas such as industrial cost-of-production audits, sectoral or product costing within domestic and global value chains, or forensic accounting.

Skills and Responsibilities
The selected professional will be expected to contribute to the development of standardized mathematical templates and analytical methodologies for determining Normal Value and Export Price across different industrial sectors.

Another important area will be analyzing product costing and sectoral cost structures across local and global value chains. This work will help determine dumping margins and distinguish injury caused by imports from the effects of other macroeconomic factors.
Economist

Qualification
Candidates for the Economist position should possess a PhD or Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Economics, preferably with specialization in International Trade or Econometrics.
The position requires more than 15 years of experience in quantitative trade research and impact analysis.
Relevant experience may include tariff analysis, assessment of tariff changes, trade remedial measures, injury analysis and evaluation of domestic industry competitiveness.
Required Skills
The successful candidate should have strong expertise in tariff optimization, export product development, sectoral competitiveness, value addition and productivity enhancement.
Knowledge and practical experience relating to consumer welfare, tariff policy design and WTO dispute settlement mechanisms are also required.
The position also involves supporting exporters in relation to trade remedy measures and contributing to economic research and policy analysis associated with the functions of the National Tariff Commission.
Because this is a senior professional position, candidates should clearly highlight their experience in quantitative economic research, international trade, tariff policy and trade-remedy-related analysis in their applications.
Contract Terms and Salary
Both advertised positions will initially be offered on a contract basis for a period of one to three years.
The contract may subsequently be extended on a yearly basis depending on the candidate’s performance and the continuing requirement of the Commission.
Selected candidates will be offered a lump-sum salary inclusive of all components at the time of initial appointment. This initial salary will serve as the base salary for subsequent annual enhancement.
According to the advertisement, the salary may be increased annually by 5% to 15% of the base salary, depending on satisfactory performance.
