For engineering and technical positions, candidates may require an engineering degree, relevant technical experience and defence procurement or technical qualifications. Candidates applying for procurement and supply chain positions may require relevant procurement experience, master’s degree, MBA or professional qualifications as specified for the particular vacancy.
The psychology position requires relevant qualifications such as MS in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, along with appropriate professional experience. Medical administration positions require qualifications and service experience relevant to hospital administration or medical procurement.
Age Limit and Retirement Requirements
The maximum age for Colonel applicants is 54 years, while Lieutenant Colonel and Major applicants must be 52 years or below. For pilots, the maximum age is 55 years and below. Retired officers applying for the general positions should have retired and struck off strength within the last two years, excluding LPR. For pilots, retirement should have occurred within the last five years, excluding LPR.
Officers involved in disciplinary cases concerning moral turpitude, character issues or misappropriation during service are not eligible. Officers who were retired, released or discharged compulsorily due to inefficiency are also ineligible. Officers with Medical Category “EEE” are not eligible.
Method of Selection
Applicants will appear before a Special Selection Board at GHQ, Rawalpindi. Selection will be made according to the prescribed criteria, relevant experience, qualifications and suitability for the available positions. The selected officers will be appointed for a period of three years, which may be extendable by one year based on performance and recommendations of the respective organization.
